![]() ![]() What I am trying to say is that here, in this game, you will not just run around the map jumping all over the place scoring tons of kills. Isonzo captures what I imagine to be the true WW1 experience. Sure, there were a couple of fully automatic prototype guns, but that was extremely rare. However, that wasn’t a true WW1 experience.īack then it was all about rifles, revolvers, and artillery. Fast-paced, everybody coked out of their mind running full automatic weapons, you just had to be there. I absolutely loved the WW1 rendition that DICE created. It usually takes just one bullet either from a rifle or even a revolver and that’s it. Mortar and artillery shells rock the ground and the sound of mustard gas dropping and spreading out is a great indicator for you to get the hell out of that place.īeing a hardcore FPS, you’ll die a lot of times. The sound design is also great as you’ll hear bullets whizzing no matter if you are storming or protecting the front. The weapon models look incredible along with their reload animations and are period appropriate. ![]() The maps are all gorgeous and massive with spanning landscapes and forests with vibrant blue skies and lush greenery. When it comes to the presentation, the game looks absolutely stunning. Isonzo focuses on the Italian front as you will battle your way across the beautiful landscapes of the Italian Alps, the Dolomites, and the Adriatic coast. So you can think of Isonzo as the third installment of this great WW1 series of games. The guys behind Isonzo are BlackMill Games, the same well-known developers who already brought us Verdun and Tannenberg, both set in WW1. Lately, we have gotten a lot of great hardcore first-person shooter games and I am happy to say that Isonzo is one of them. Depending on how the game goes.Isonzo is well, great. The length of games can vary from ten minutes to over an hour. Isonzo is a game of patience and planning, and being shot and having no idea where from. The defenders must kill 300 attackers to stop the offensive. To push back the defenders, the attacks have to take multiple points on the map. It is a simple matter of capturing and defending points. They split the battle field up into two teams: the attackers and defenders. For instance, there can only be two captains in a team. ![]() There are caps on most of the classes except the attacker class. It then split teams into smaller squads of 4. Isonzo has six initial classes to pick from, in each 20 vs. As with its other installments, it is all about realism. The terrain is just as important to master as is the weapons and classes. There are six maps that will have you climbing up the sides of mountains, in ruined towns and open spaces. Picking your shots and a far more tactical approach is needed here. Instead Isonzo moves away from the Call of Duty styled high speed gameplay and slows it right down. With its slower paced gameplay, cumbersome reloads and running-and-gunning is not much of an option. Isonzo, like its predecessors, goes for the gritty realism of the first world war. Each map is based on real life locations. Isonzo pits the Kingdom of Italy and Austro-Hungarian Dual Monarchy against each other in large-scale battles. Another WW1 styled shooter that aims for realism in its gameplay. Isonzo comes from the same folks that made, Verdun and Tannenberg. Review Rush was kindly supplied with a review code.
